Budda Baker receives nomination for league award for 5th straight year

Every since 2020, the Cardinals have selected safety Budda Baker for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. He was a finalist in 2023.

The NFL announced the nominees for the 2024 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, one from every team. The Arizona Cardinals made safety Budda Baker their nomination for the fifth consecutive season.

Each NFL team nominated a player for the award, which recognizes individuals around the league who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship.

Created in 2014, the award honors the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney Sr. Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald was the first league winner in 2014.

Of the 32 nominees, a panel of former players considered NFL legends (Warrick Dunn, Larry Fitzgerald, Curtis Martin and Leonard Wheeler) select four finalists from each conference to be placed on Pro Bowl ballots for players to vote on. Players cannot vote for teammates.

Baker was a finalist last year for the first time.

Finalists will be announced in December and the winner will be announced at the NFL Honors ceremony the week of the Super Bowl. The winner will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL to the charity of his choice.
