Bucs WR Mike Evans becomes franchise’s leading scorer against Eagles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wasted no time getting started with the scoring against the Eagles on Sunday. They did so with a special flare as they did it on their opening drive and sprinkled on some franchise history.

Heading into their Week 4 matchup against the Eagles, former Bucs kicker Martin Gramatica was the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. After Mike Evans’s touchdown reception on the opening drive, he has now usurped Gramatica atop the leaderboard.

With the score, Evans now has 596 career points for the Bucs to surpass Gramatica’s 592.

What may be more impressive for Evans is that he has become the third-position player in NFL history to be his franchise’s all-time leading scorer. You may have heard of the other two players, Jerry Rice for the San Francisco 49ers and Emmitt Smith for the Dallas Cowboys.

Evans may not join their franchise’s leaderboard, but he will join them in Canton when his career ends.
