When Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich were running the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense, wide receiver Chris Godwin spent the majority of his time lined up in the slot, putting up huge numbers along the way.
Last season under Dave Canales, Godwin spent more time lined up on the outside, and he saw his numbers dip despite playing more games than he did in either of the previous two seasons.
Now that Liam Coen is calling the shots for the Tampa Bay offense heading into the 2024 season, it sounds like Godwin will be headed back inside.
New wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon told the media earlier this week that Godwin can expect to spend the majority of his time back in the slot in the new scheme:
Already No. 2 in Bucs history in every major receiving category, Godwin is poised for another big year despite breaking in a new offensive coordinator yet again.
