The Buccaneers are adding another weapon on offense for Tom Brady. Former Chiefs, Eagles and Bills running back LeSean McCoy agreed to a one-year, minimum deal worth just over $1 million according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
McCoy, 32, spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played in 13 games with nine starts and racked up 465 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. He also added 181 yards and a touchdown through the air on 28 receptions for the Super Bowl champions.
The Eagles selected McCoy in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. He played his first six seasons in Philadelphia before signing with the Buffalo Bills and playing there for four season before landing with the Chiefs for the 2019 campaign.
In 11 seasons, McCoy has racked up 11,071 yards and 73 touchdowns while averaging 4.5 yards per carry. He enters the 2020 season ranked No. 22 on the all-time rushing list.
He’s also been a prolific pass catcher at all of his stops, hauling in 503 balls for 3,797 yards and 16 receiving touchdowns.
McCoy brings experience to a relatively young backfield that also features Ronald Jones II, Raymond Calais, TJ Logan, Dare Ogunbowale, Aca’Cedric Ware and Ke’Shawn Vaughn.
