Bucs set to leave Tampa Bay early for New Orleans ahead of Hurricane Milton

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a loss to the Falcons on Thursday in overtime but their focus is shifting away from football for a bit. The team was able to withstand Hurricane Helene but a new tropical system has developed and has quickly become very serious.

The team announced on Monday that they would be leaving early for New Orleans ahead of their matchup with the Saints on Sunday.

The cause for the early departure comes as Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on Wednesday. It will be the first Hurricane to make a direct hit on the Tampa Bay area since 1921. This once in a lifetime storm is developing quickly and is already a Category 5.

Just as the Bucs are taking safety precautions, so should everyone in the area. Pay attention to the advice of FEMA, local officials and weather experts as this storm comes on the heels of Helene.
