Bucs QB Baker Mayfield comtinues to be a soft spot for Browns fans

Despite the successes of Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield with his old team, they gambled with greener pastures on the other side.

In 2018, the Cleveland Browns had the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, and they selected Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma. They would spend some years together, which peaked when the former Heisman Trophy winner led the team to its first playoff win in a generation.

Despite that, the Browns gambled with greener pastures on the other side of the hill.

The team traded for and extended controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was coming off a torn ACL a year prior and not playing football for an entire season due to off-the-field circumstances. That move resulted in the Browns cutting Mayfield, and he hopped around to the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams before finding a career rebirth in Tampa Bay.

Everything has turned out great for Bucs fans and Mayfield, but the Browns and Watson have struggled.

The Browns’ anger for their situation peaked this week when a caller pointed out the two quarterbacks’ quarterback ratings to a radio host. You can hear the call in the post below, but it is safe to say that Bucs fans have to be happy that they aren’t on the other end of things.
