The Bucs are making two elevations to cover for injuries against the New Orleans Saints.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making some practice squad elevations ahead of their Week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints.

The Bucs are dealing with injuries to both cornerback Carlton Davis III and tight end Ko Kieft, and they’ve made some elevations for insurance. The team announced that TE David Wells and CB Derrek Pitts Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster.

Both players have been on the active roster before. Wells served as the team’s third tight end to start the season, but he was quickly replaced by Payne Durham after a rough stretch of play. Pitts has always been a special teams option on the practice squad and got his first playing reps against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.

The Bucs will take on the Saints at 1 p.m. EST on New Year’s Eve for a chance to win the NFC South.
