Bucs center Robert Hainsey loved getting cussed out by Tom Brady

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Robert Hainsey didn’t mind Tom Brady’s profanity-laced pep talk during Sunday’s frustrating loss

During last week’s frustrating loss to Pittsburgh Steelers, one that featured more offensive struggles for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Fox broadcast caught quarterback Tom Brady delivering a profanity-laced pep talk to his offensive line.

Bucs center Robert Hainsey didn’t mind at all, and in fact, he welcomes that kind of response from his quarterback.

“Everyone can call it what they want, but I want nothing else than a quarterback [like] that – a guy who’s willing to tell us what we need to do and step up, [as opposed to] just sitting over there and not getting us going and not trying to help us,” Hainsey said Wednesday. “He wouldn’t be who he is today [if not for that]. I love that from him and I know we all love that from him. It might look weird on TV, but that’s football – it’s a team sport and that’s what you want from great teammates and great leaders and he’s the best there is.”

Tampa Bay’s offense managed just four field goals before a late touchdown in Sunday’s 20-18 defeat, continuing a concerning trend of stagnant play from the offense. Many have pointed fingers at Hainsey, who is starting in place of injured Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen, as well as rookie left guard Luke Goedeke, for much of the unit’s struggles.

Brady, Hainsey and the rest of the Tampa Bay offense will be looking to get things back on track Sunday against the lowly Carolina Panthers.
