Bucs CB Carlton Davis immediately dunked on Michael Thomas after critical tweets

We got ourselves a good ol’ fashion Twitter beef.

Michael Thomas has had himself a day on Twitter. Hours after maybe subtweeting his quarterback, the Saints wide receiver decided to re-spark his budding feud with Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis, who referred to Thomas as “slant boy” after locking him down in Tampa Bay’s win in New Orleans last weekend.

After Davis was beaten for a touchdown by Davante Adams, who coincidentally ran a slant route, Thomas took the opportunity to hit back at Davis while watching the NFC Championship Game. The Saints wideout didn’t tag Davis in the post, but he had to know that the Bucs corner would eventually see it …

Thomas also tweeted that Davis needed help …

It didn’t take very long for Davis to find the tweets and he immediately responded.

Whew! What a response. Not only did Davis correctly point out that he locked Thomas down, he added the fact that the Bucs mostly played Cover 1 in the games against New Orleans. That means there was only one safety in the deep middle, so Davis had no help covering Thomas. He didn’t need it.

Now we wait for Thomas’ response. Maybe he’ll do it while Davis and the Bucs are playing in the Super Bowl.
