The Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed yet another double-digit comeback in the fourth quarter to beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and that’s exactly what they got.
After trailing 21-10 early in the fourth, the Bucs found the end zone three times, and got key stops from their defense on their way to a 30-24 victory.
The win clinches the NFC South title for the Bucs, giving them back-to-back division titles for the first time in franchise history, and sends them to the postseason for the third year in a row.
Tom Brady threw for 432 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, adding another score on the ground. Mike Evans led the Bucs with 10 receptions for 207 yards, hauling in all three of Brady’s touchdown passes from 63, 57, and 30 yards, respectively.
The Bucs have struggled to force takeaways on defense all year long, but got three big ones Sunday, including a clutch strip-sack from Anthony Nelson in the final minutes to set up Brady’s rushing touchdown that proved to be the difference on the scoreboard.
Tampa Bay will now hold the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoff bracket, which will have them hosting the top wild-card team in the first round of the postseason.
