The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came away with quite the haul in the 2020 NFL draft, including Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs and Minnesota safety Antoine Winfield Jr.
For a team with championship aspirations in 2020, the Bucs are doing everything they can to surround quarterback Tom Brady with enough talent to help get Tampa Bay back to the playoffs for the first time since 2007. That means roster spots will be few and far between, but the team is making sure to explore all options before solidifying their 53-man roster this summer.
Today, the Bucs announced the signing of 13 undrafted free agents. Here is the complete list:
- OLB Michael Divinity, LSU
- OLB Cam Gill, Wagner College
- S Javon Hagan, Ohio
- WR Travis Jonsen, Montana State
- G John Molchon, Boise State
- OLB Nasir Player, East Tennessee State
- DT Benning Potoa’e, Washington
- C Zach Schackelford, Texas
- QB Reid Sinnett, San Diego
- WR John Hurst, West Georgia
- G Nick Leverett, Rice
- CB Parnell Motley, Oklahoma
- WR Josh Pearson, Jacksonville State
Sinnett may be the player to watch on this list. Bruce Arians said the team didn’t take a developmental quarterback in the draft because they planned to sign an undrafted free agent with upside. Sinnett seems to be that guy.
As for wide receivers Hurst and Pearson, they are joining an already crowded receiving group that includes newly-drafted receiver Tyler Johnson. It’ll be interesting to see how may receivers the Bucs plan to carry into the season, especially when you consider the three big tight-end contracts they’ll have in 2020.
