Milwaukee Bucks two-way contract player Frank Mason III on Thursday was named the 2019-20 NBA G League Most Valuable Player, the league announced in a press release.

Mason averaged 26.4 points, five assists and 3.4 assists in 23 games with the Wisconsin Herd. He led the G League in scoring and tallied at least 30 points in five of his last six games played with the Herd prior to the season suspension, including a season-high 44 points on Feb. 19.

He earned MVP in a vote by the 28 G League head coaches and general managers.

Mason shot 50.4% from the field, 42.5% from 3-point range and 81.5% from the free-throw line, joining Stephan Hicks of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as the only players in the G League to record a 50/40/80 shooting season in 2019-20.

On June 4, the G League announced the 2019-20 season was officially canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic after the season was suspended indefinitely on March 12. The G League regular season was set to conclude on March 28.
