Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo out vs. Bulls with right knee soreness

Milwaukee will be without their MVP on Wednesday vs. Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls caught a huge break on Wednesday night.

One hour prior to tip-off against Milwaukee, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters that Giannis Antetokounmpo would miss tonight’s game due to right knee soreness.

Antetokounmpo was originally listed as probable yet reportedly cut his pregame warmup shorter than usual before being downgraded to out.

Without Antetokounmpo, the Bulls chances of knocking off the No. 1 seed in the East jump significantly as Chicago hopes to move up the play-in standings.

Wednesday’s contest could come as first-round preview for the second straight year if the Bulls end up landing as the No. 8 seed following a successful play-in tournament.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
