Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown removes jersey, leaves field during Jets game

Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown took off his uniform and left the field during the Bucs-Jets game.

Antonio Brown’s NFL career has been equal parts great play and abject frustration on the parts of coaches, teammates, and law enforcement officers regarding Brown’s… uhh… “mercurial” behavior. As much has Brown has done to be a problem to himself and to those around him, what happened in the third quarter of the Buccaneers’ Sunday game versus the Jets might be the weirdest thing yet.

This was when the Tampa Bay offense was on the field, and Brown wasn’t part of the drive. Perhaps that’s what upset him, especially with the Bucs down 24-10 at the time. We assume we’ll know after the game when head coach Bruce Arians speaks with the media. But what he do know is that after Tom Brady hit tight end Cameron Brate for a one-yard pass, Brown started taking off his gear, stripped down to his bare chest, started throwing his uniform pieces into the crowd, started a bizarre audience participation thing, and walked right into the tunnel… again, while the game was going on.

Brown was one of three current and former Buccaneers players who recently served three-game suspensions for falsifying vaccination cards. When asked about this, Brown made it clear that the media was creating his drama.

With all due respect to Mr. Brown, we think this is not a media creation.
