Bubba Watson might be on his way to a fourth Travelers Championship title … and that’s after the head on his driver snapped in the second round.
Watson was teeing off on Friday at the par-4 second hole when disaster struck — the lefty hit his ball and seemed to know mid-swing that the head came off and went flying. Yet the shot stayed on the fairway and went 295 yards. His caddie worked his hardest to repair the club by taking off the piece of the shaft that broke off (he tried using his teeth!).
It didn’t seem to matter — Watson finished four-under for the day and eight under overall, putting him among the top contenders.
