Less than one month ago, C.J. Stroud was seemingly setting up shop atop the 2023 NFL draft. The Ohio State University quarterback was growing into the heavy darling to be selected No. 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers, registering as high as a -250 favorite with some oddsmakers.
But now, the tide has turned towards University of Alabama star Bryce Young—in just about every way possible. Since Young has become the reported frontrunner for Carolina according to a handful of league insiders and is being penciled into the spot by some popular mock drafters, sportsbooks are following suit—increasing his odds pretty substantially over the past few days.
And here is the difference on the FanDuel sportsbook between today and yesterday:

Young, after being co-favorites with Stroud less than one week ago, emerged as the top dog on Monday. That lead has, obviously, stretched quite a bit over the past 24 hours.
That 24-hour span also saw the Panthers wrap up their top-30 visit with the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner—one that was described as “impressive” by FOX Charlotte’s Will Kunkel on Tuesday.
