With the conclusion of the 2022 NFL draft, it is only right to focus our sights on the 2023 draft, and it may be one for the ages.
Recently, on the Adam Schefter Podcast, College Draft Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. made the prediction that seven quarterbacks will go in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Which would make it one of the best classes of all time.
Some of the names that come to mind are CJ Stroud of Ohio State, Spencer Rattler at South Carolina and Jake Haener of Fresno State, however, the one that stands out is Alabama‘s Bryce Young.
In his first year as a starter, Young hoisted the Heisman Trophy and played for a national title, he looks to repeat those accomplishments and more in 2022. Young has unmatched pocket awareness, NFL caliber accuracy and elusiveness similar to that of Russell Wilson.
Young plays NFL ready talent week-in and week-out in the SEC, which will help his paying abilities and his draft stock.
If somehow Young doesn’t go first overall, it could likely be his teammate in Crimson Will Anderson.

Young could be the first quarterback selected in a 2023 class that could potentially see six or more selected in the first round. As ESPn drat experts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay discussed on Adam Schefter’s podcast shortly after the 2022 draft concluded.
ESPN draft analysts @MelKiperESPN, along with @McShay13, set the over/under for quarterbacks to go in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft at 6.5. And Kiper is going with the over.
