Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud meet up after thrilling Week 8 showdown

After battling it out in Week 8, Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud capped off their first NFL showdown by chatting it up in the back.

Even after Sunday’s result, C.J. Stroud still has more wins, more passing yards and more touchdowns in the NFL than Bryce Young does. But he still doesn’t have the bragging rights.

In their first pro battle, and their first head-to-head matchup since Young’s Inland Empire Ducks topped Stroud’s Sonoma Steelers in middle school, the No. 1 overall pick outdueled the No. 2 overall pick in a 15-13 win for the Carolina Panthers. The victor began his postgame presser by giving his thoughts on the showdown.

“That’s my dog, that’s my brother,” Young said of Stroud. “I have a ton of love and respect for him. But it’s not a one-on-one game out there. I’m super super happy for this team, to be a part of this team.”

Soon after Young stepped off the lectern, he met his dog for a little chat in the back.

Young had the edge in the box score as well, as he completed 22 of his 31 throws for 235 yards and a touchdown. Stroud finished with 16 completions on 24 attempts for a career-low 140 yards.
