The Browns Wire has a new managing editor. Please welcome Jared Mueller as the top dawg on the site!
As the first and only editor the Browns Wire has ever had until Mueller came on board, it’s a strange feeling. Jared and I have been friends for years, roommates at the scouting combine in Indianapolis several times. He was handpicked to take over the reins, and I am thrilled to bring his years of Browns experience and knowledge over to the Wire network.
This does not mean goodbye for me. I am still proudly serving on the Browns Wire staff and covering my hometown team. But running two sites full-time–I’ve been the managing editor for Lions Wire since 2019, and Texans Wire before that–became too much for me to handle effectively. I have two kids (15 and 12) who are promising basketball players and the travel, the practices and the precious “dad” time were too important to sacrifice to wear both hats. Living in Michigan and covering the Lions on the radio and the Detroit Lions Podcast full-time made the difficult decision of which site to relinquish control somewhat academic.
So I’m still here, just in a reduced capacity. Jared will be the primary editor and handle the bulk of responsibilities during games and training camp. Our contributors will remain the same and are probably thrilled to have my overbearing grammar police out of office.
Please welcome Mueller as the new leader of Browns Wire, and thanks for the support and graciousness you’ve shown me personally since this site came to life at the end of the 2016 season. We’ve been through a lot together; this site was born with pieces on Terrelle Pryor’s fate, what to do with Cam Erving and my complaints about Hue Jackson’s lack of organizational focus. Oh how the times have changed!
I can’t wait to Dawg Check at the Browns’ first home playoff game in decades with you all. Mueller will be there too.
