The Cleveland Browns now have another weapon on the defense of the San Francisco 49ers to prepare for as they have acquired Randy Gregory from the Denver Broncos. Under new head coach Sean Payton, the flailing Broncos are looking to get experience for younger players, and that meant shipping off Gregory, who had just signed a five-year deal in Denver the year before.
For the Browns, Gregory is now added to a defensive front that already included reigning Defensive Player of the Year, defensive tackles Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead, second-year player Drake Jackson, and more.
And for an offensive line that has not been playing up to the Bill Callahan standard, this presents a challenge.
However, with the bye week and two weeks to prepare for one of the very best teams in the NFL, the Browns have every opportunity to come out and show they are the legitimate Super Bowl contenders they think they are. Adding Gregory to the mix, however, throws a bit of a wrench into the gameplan.
