Browns waive Josh Dobbs as Deshaun Watson officially returns

The Browns have cleared a roster spot to make way for Deshaun Watson’s return

The NFL has officially reinstated quarterback Deshaun Watson after his 11-game suspension. After the move became official, the Cleveland Browns cleared a roster spot for Watson by waiving quarterback Josh Dobbs.

Despite being inactive every game this season, the Browns opted to keep second-year quarterback Kellen Mond over Dobbs. Using a waiver claim to keep the second-year quarterback, the Browns are planning for beyond 2022 as Mond still has two years left on his rookie contract.

Look for Dobbs to land back on the Cleveland practice squad should he fail to find an active roster spot among the other 32 teams around the NFL.
