The Cleveland Browns face off with the Chicago Bears from First Energy Stadium today. The two teams are both 1 – 1 on the young season but have completly different expectations placed on them from the media and fans.
The Browns are coming off a win over the Houston Texans where they didn’t control the game as much as many expected. Their loss was a close one to the juggernaut Kansas City Chiefs offense.
The Bears were destroyed in Week 1 but held off the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 thanks to a defensive touchdown.
Both teams have injury concerns going into the game so the inactives list could be very telling:
Browns Inactives
- OL Chris Hubbard
- OL Michael Dunn
- DE Ifeadi Odenigbo
- LB Sione Takitaki
- DB Richard LeCounte III
- DL Tommy Togiai
There was some thought that Odenigbo, signed to the active roster this week, could be active but the Browns continue to be down two backup offensive linemen and starting SAM linebacker Takitaki joins the list this week.
The Browns also note that Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will get the start today at linebacker.
Bears Inactives
- QB Andy Dalton
- WR Breshad Perriman
- DB Artie Burns
- DB Tashuan Gipson Sr.
- TE Jesper Horsted
- DL Eddie Goldman
Gipson and Goldman are key defensive starters while Dalton’s injury opened the door for Justin Fields to start this week.
