The Cleveland Browns are hoping QB Baker Mayfield “bounces back” in 2022. The hope for that bounce back started on Wednesday with Mayfield’s shoulder surgery to repair. the torn labrum that was initially hurt in Week 2 and reinjured later in the season.
Mayfield was excited to get that step completed and then shared a video updating fans after the surgery.
The team released a statement following the surgery confirming a report from months ago about the quarterback’s recovery time:

As noted in the statement, Mayfield will be able to do some light throwing in April, before the NFL draft late that month. With the torque caused by throwing a football and the time available before the team needs the quarterback healthy, expect caution to be the approach.
Last year’s training camp opened in late July and finished almost a month later. By July 19th, Mayfield will have had the full six-month recovery time allotted in the period noted by the team in their release.
