Browns set to get back both starting safeties vs. Bengals

Both Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill returned to practice on Wednesday

The Cleveland Browns are set to get both Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill back as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Delpit, who missed the last game with a concussion suffered against the Washington Commanders, has cleared the protocol and will resume his role. Rodney McLeod and Ronnie Hickman Jr. have been holding down the fort, but there is no question that Delpit is the best player in that room.

Getting him back will be a boost.

Thornhill, who re-agitated an existing calf injury in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, has been out since. He has now been designated for return from Injured Reserve. This does not mean he will return against the Bengals this weekend, but the Browns have opened his 21-day activation window to return to practice.

If he cannot go, expect McLeod and Hickman to continue to rotate in at free safety. With Nick Chubb also returning, can these returns continue to give the Browns a much-needed boost?
