Browns request permission to interview Eagles VP of football operations Andrew Berry for GM job

The Cleveland Browns are in the hunt for a general manager and Eagles vice president of football operations, Andrew Berry is among the targets.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the Browns have requested permission to interview Berry for their vacant GM position.

Berry was hired by Howie Roseman after previously serving as the Cleveland Browns’ vice president of player personnel. With his specialty being analytics and still only 31 years old, Berry is viewed by many as an up-and-coming talent in the NFL.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com is reporting that Berry will be the Haslam’s first choice, referring to the owner’s special relationship with the former Browns executive.

Haslem would love to pair Berry with the Browns Chiefs Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta, who oversees the analytics side of things.
