Browns QB situation could get weird in Week 18 vs Ravens

It wouldn’t be a Browns season without a little more chaos at the quarterback position

The Cleveland Browns, known for weird quarterback situations, could have another one on their hands with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Bailey Zappe.ai

As Thompson-Robinson has struggled to find any sort of success in his two starts since taking over for Jameis Winston, the Browns are left potentially starting a fourth quarterback for the second straight season. It would not be a December Browns game without a start from a random quarterback like Thad Lewis, Jeff Driskel, Bruce Gradkowski, or Connor Shaw.

Speaking to the media today, head coach Kevin Stefanski did not commit to either Zappe or Thompson-Robinson as the starting quarterback in their season finale against the Ravens. Instead, he inserted the idea that the Browns could play both Zappe and Thompson-Robinson in Baltimore.

Zappe, a former fourth round pick of the New England Patriots, has started eight games in his NFL career. He even beat the Browns in 2022 as a rookie, totaling a record of 4-4 in those eight starts. After being cut from the Patriots this summer, he was on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad until the Browns signed him to their active roster following the season-ending injury to Deshaun Watson.

Always on our toes, we’ll have to wait until 4:30 PM on Saturday to see what the Browns decide to do.
