Nick Chubb is back and will be in the Cleveland Browns lineup when the team hosts the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Browns officially activated Chubb from the injured reserve list on Saturday.
Chubb was designated for return earlier in the week and had practiced with the team throughout the week. The trainers wanted to see how Chubb’s injured knee responded to the stress and activity of practicing. Coach Kevin Stefanski indicated after Friday’s practice that Chubb had “hit all the benchmarks” to get activated but the team waited another day.
The Pro Bowl running back passed the tests.
Because offensive lineman Chris Hubbard was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday, the Browns had an open roster spot for Chubb.
