Browns Mayfield, OBJ, Landry, Hooper take trip together before Week 1

With a few days off over the weekend, Mayfield and some of his weapons took their families on a short trip to relax and continue their bonding. May have stole from the Brady playbook for the location:

The Cleveland Browns are days away from kicking off the 2021 NFL season and excitement is flooding the fan base. The team has talent, coaching and consistency for the first time in decades. They are also coming off a winning season and a playoff victory last year.

All of that has built fan excitement which could crescendo with kickoff against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. The real climax could come from a Super Bowl victory in February of 2022. Between then and now, a lot has to go right for the Browns.

One of the underlying positives of the team has been the chemistry that has been seen. A great piece by Camryn Justice highlights the bonds of the team:

While the Browns still have to produce on the field this season, being able to play well together is something that should come a lot more naturally for this team now that they’ve gotten on the same page and created these strong bonds.

Another sign of those bonds is the trip that Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper, along with their families, took during the team’s short break last weekend. Mayfield shared photos from the trip that included football, golf, food and, according to his description, the card game Phase 10:

Mayfield may have gotten the idea for the trip and location from one, if not the, greatest of all time, Tom Brady:

These trips and these bonds may not decide a game but they go a long way in keeping players together through a long season, through tough losses and through adversity.

Now, the quick trip is over and it is time to get ready for the Chiefs in Week 1 and the rest of the 2021 season for the Browns.
