Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah misses practice with non-COVID illness

Noted as non-COVID related, JOK missed practice on Thursday with an illness according to the team:

The Cleveland Browns are hoping they have as many players back as possible from both their reserve/COVID-19 list as well as from injuries. Earlier today, the team activated four more players off the COVID list including CB Greg Newsome II who was also cleared from the concussion protocol.

Following practice came news from the team that LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah missed practice due to being ill. The team reported that the illness was not COVID-19.

The Browns second-round pick out of Notre Dame, Owusu-Koramoah has played well at the second level of the Cleveland defense. His speed, agility and awareness have put him in a position to be successful early in his career.

With an extra day plus before Monday Night Football, it is hopeful that his illness will not keep him out of the game. Owusu-Koramoah has been starting much of the season next to Anthony Walker Jr. at the linebacker spots. If his illness does not allow him to play, Jacob Phillips or Malcolm Smith would likely step into his role.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
