Blitz quarterback Joe Flacco at your own risk. When the Jacksonville Jaguars came after him at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday, Flacco made them pay in the worst way on the way toward the Browns’ eighth win of the season.
On the day in Cleveland’s 31-27 win over the Jaguars, Flacco finished with a passing line of 9-for-12 for 182 yards and three touchdowns when added pressure was sent his way. He finished the game with a near-perfect passer rating against the blitz as well.
While the old discussion of whether or not Joe Flacco is an elite quarterback is in the rear-view mirror, there is no question that he was elite against the blitz in this one. And it is becoming apparent that the Browns can compete with anyone if they continue to get this level of output from Flacco, who has been officially named as the starting quarterback, the rest of the way out.
With the Chicago Bears up next, can Flacco and the Browns keep it rolling through the air?
Joe Flacco is 9/12 for 182 yds, 3 TDs, and a 156.3 passer rating vs the blitz today. Professional quarterback.
