Browns, former Titans QB Josh Dobbs agree to one-year deal

Former Titans QB Josh Dobbs has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Browns.

Tennessee Titans free-agent quarterback Joshua Dobbs will not be back in Nashville in 2023, as the signal-caller has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

The news comes from Dobbs’ agent, Mike McCartney, who did not reveal the financial terms of the contract. This will be Dobbs’ second stint with the Browns after he spent time with them in 2022.

The Titans not holding on to Dobbs is a bit surprising.

After all, he played well in an impossible situation last season, and did so basically off the straight, making his first-career start just eight days following his arrival in Tennessee.

Dobbs figured to be a solid option to give Malik Willis competition behind whoever is the starter.

With Dobbs gone, the Titans have two quarterbacks on their current roster in Ryan Tannehill, who isn’t certain to return, and Willis, who now becomes the lone option for the backup job as of this moment. Look for Tennessee to add some form of competition for the Liberty product, though.
