Browns designate second round rookie to return from Injured Reserve

Mike Hall Jr. is on his way back

The Cleveland Browns are getting rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. back in the lineup.

According to Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal, the Browns have designated Hall Jr. to return from injured reserve. Additionally, they have signed tight end Tre’ McKitty to the practice squad. Hall Jr. has the potential to play this week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cleveland has opened a 21-day window for Hall to return to practice and be activated to the 53-man roster; otherwise, he will revert to injured reserve for the remainder of the season. Hall has been sidelined since Week 9 after sustaining a knee injury in practice leading up to the Saints game.

It has been a challenging rookie season for the Browns’ first pick of the 2024 draft. He began the year on the Commissioner’s Exempt List and did not make his debut until Week 6. Hall has tremendous potential as an interior pass rusher, which could bolster a pass-rush unit already anchored by Myles Garrett.

Having played in just four games, Hall will aim to return and lay the groundwork for a strong sophomore campaign.
