The Cleveland Browns get back on the field on Tuesday with their first preseason game coming up on Saturday. So far, training camp has been a story of small injuries and a few breakout players. Outside of that, stories out of Berea are tame compared to the past.
The two biggest looming stories diverge in the near future. The first big story is extension talks for Baker Mayfield, Denzel Ward, Wyatt Teller and Ronnie Harrison but those talks could extend far into the season.
The second big story that is looming is roster cutdowns. Unlike previous Browns teams, this year general manager Andrew Berry and company have a lot of difficult decisions to make. Those decisions could lead to quality players being cut or traded before the season starts.
Before the first preseason game, now is a good time to try to break down the team’s roster into two sections: Players who are certain to make the roster and those on the bubble.
We start off with the certainties of the roster. These are players who will be on the team’s opening roster, barring injury, trade, or off-the-field issues. Later, we will take a look at players on the bubble.
