Brooklyn’s Seth Curry listed as a free agent who needs to go elsewhere

Seth Curry is one free-agent who needs to play for someone other than the Brooklyn Nets next season, according to Dan Favale of Bleacher Report.

The Brooklyn Nets have the 2023 NBA draft coming up in less than two weeks as the first major item on the to-do list they have to worry about.

However, they have to make decisions regarding free agency, and according to Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, Seth Curry is a free agent who needs to go somewhere else for the 2023-24 season.

Curry, 32, has been in Brooklyn for the past 1 1/2 seasons after coming to the Nets as part of the Ben Simmons-James Harden trade during the 2021-22 campaign. In those 80 games, Curry averaged 10.6 points while shooting 47.3% from the field and 42.7% from 3-point land.

The premise of Favale’s piece is Curry does not fit as well with the current roster as he did during the era of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Curry did not play as much after the trades of the superstars, but he was still effective in his role as a scorer off the bench. Favale details why Curry should play elsewhere for next season:

“Curry might still have a place in Brooklyn if he could run point. He’s more of a pure off-guard. That’s a niche, if limiting, role for someone standing 6’2”. But the 32-year-old can still sling it.

Among everyone who has attempted at least 1,000 3s since 2015-16, only Harris and Luke Kennard have knocked theirs down at a higher clip. Curry will have a market — outside Brooklyn.”
