Brooklyn Nets place 17th in B/R’s latest power rankings

In Bleacher Report’s latest power rankings done by Andy Bailey, the Brooklyn Nets rank 17th in the NBA.

The 2023 NBA Draft is less than one week away and while the main focus of the Brooklyn Nets has been on the draft, they could be looking ahead as well. In Bleacher Report’s latest NBA power rankings done by Andy Bailey, the Nets rank as the 17th-best team in the league.

Bailey acknowledges in the title that these rankings are premature since the draft has not happened yet and a lot of things can change for a lot of teams before games become real months from now. However, now that the Denver Nuggets have won the league championship for the 2022-23 season, it’s interesting to see where teams stand before any major moves/decisions are made.

Brooklyn ranking 17th makes sense as nobody would confuse this squad with having one of the best rosters in the Association. However, the Nets do have some pieces like Mikal Bridges, Nic Claxton, and Spencer Dinwiddie that make them better than a lot of other teams at the bottom of the league. Also, if Brooklyn is able to pull off a trade for a star-level player, Brooklyn could rise up the power rankings to become a more competitive team.
