For the time being, the Brooklyn Nets have to think about the draft and free agency. The Nets have three picks in the 2023 NBA draft, including Nos. 21 and 22. They also have to figure out what they are going to do in free agency when it starts at the end of June.
Promising Nets wing Mikal Bridges seemed to be doing some work for Brooklyn by appearing to recruit restricted free-agent Grant Williams. Williams, 24, just finished his fourth season in the league as a reserve forward for the Boston Celtics. Williams is known for his 3-point shooting and defensive versatility due to his combination of size and athleticism.
It’s no secret the Nets have been looking for depth since the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving brought Brooklyn more wings than it could reasonably play while keeping everybody happy. Williams has been deployed as more of a big in the frontcourt since he has been better at guarding bigger players.
