The Brooklyn Nets, along with the other 29 teams in the NBA, will be participating in the first In-Season Tournament in the history of the Association. NBA commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement of the tournament Saturday while in Las Vegas for the summer league and NBA Con.
All of the teams will be split into three groups within their conference. So, for example, the Nets will be in Group C along with the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and the Orlando Magic. As shown by the schedule below, Brooklyn will play the other four teams in their group once as part of group play.
Group play will happen on Tuesdays and Fridays through November of next season. After that, the team with the best record from each group and one wild-card team for each conference will enter the single-elimination round of the tournament. The remaining four will play in Las Vegas for the remainder of the tournament and will have the chance to win the first-ever NBA Cup.
The game and broadcast schedule for the In-Season Tournament Group Play stage will be announced in August.
