Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie says NBA will resume July 15

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie says that the league will resume on July 15th.

The NBA has continued to make progress toward an NBA return after suspending operations on March 11 due to the novel coronavirus. The league announced that they will allow teams to begin expanding workouts beginning June 1 and that players who went out of their home market can return. Milwaukee Bucks co-partner Marc Lasry then also said that he believes the league will resume in 6-to-8 weeks.

There is now further evidence that that timeline could be correct.

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie went on Twitter and said that he is hearing that the league will play games again in a bubble site starting on July 15. The NBA wants to play a quick regular season before the playoffs start so there will be five games played before the postseason. It also appears that training camp 2.0 will begin on June 21.

If the start date is true, then this will give the Philadelphia 76ers a more clear look at how the team will look in a playoff setting. The team has maintained that they are built for the playoffs, so this will be their chance to prove it. [lawrence-related id=31341,31333,30593]
