NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets clinched the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs after the Miami Heat lost to the Washington Wizards on Friday. When the Heat-Wizards ended, the Nets were playing the Orlando Magic with about four minutes left in the contest. Brooklyn will face the third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first-round.
The Nets are one of just five teams in the NBA to make the playoffs each of the past five years. The other teams to achieve that feat are: the 76ers, the Boston Celtics, the Denver Nuggets, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Brooklyn has one game left on its schedule and ironically, their opponent is Philadelphia.
The Nets will play the 76ers on Sunday, but it’s possible that both teams will sit most, if not all, of their starters and main rotation players to be as healthy as possible for the playoffs. In the meantime, Brooklyn will try to find a way to get ready to pull off an upset against the 76ers.
