Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (32-30) meet the Toronto Raptors (33-27) Tuesday in the second of their home-and-away back-to-back. Tip-off at Scotiabank Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nets vs. Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Raptors crushed the Nets 133-97 Monday in Brooklyn without All-Star PG Fred VanVleet as 2.5-point road favorites. Since the All-Star break, Toronto is 1-2 straight up (SU) and 1-2 against the spread (ATS), while Brooklyn is also 1-2 SU and ATS.

Toronto is 16-13 SU and ATS at home while Brooklyn is 19-13 SU and 17-15 ATS on the road. The Nets are 2-1 SU and ATS versus the Raptors this season and all three Nets-Raptors meetings went Over the total.

Nets at Raptors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 112, Nets 100

Money line

PASS because Toronto should win this game handily but the Raptors (-370) is an absolute no-go.

Plus the Nets (+280) have been awful in the second of a back-to-back (2-8 SU on zero rest days) whereas the Raptors are 8-4 SU.

Against the spread

BET the RAPTORS -8.5 (-107) since the Nets +8.5 (-115) perform the worst against expectations on the second of a back-to-back.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com, Brooklyn has a minus-7.0 adjusted net rating on zero rest days (ranked 25th) but its minus-11.1 ATS margin is the worst in the NBA.

On the other hand, Toronto has a plus-3.0 adjusted net rating on the second of a back-to-back (ranked third) and a plus-4.8 ATS margin (ranked second), per CTG.

Monday’s Raptors-Nets game was decided well before the fourth quarter and Toronto was missing its only All-Star. If VanVleet is active for Tuesday’s meeting, the Raptors could get another 15-plus-point victory over the Nets.

I’d BET the RAPTORS -8.5 (-107) ASAP because if Toronto announces VanVleet in its starting 5 then this number could go north of -10.

Over/Under

All the trends point to this game going Over so, naturally, we should BET the UNDER 218.5 (-110).

Also, the Raptors shot out of their minds against the Nets Monday (51.5% from the field) and are due for some regression. And how does Brooklyn get quality shots against an aggressive, feisty and dynamic Toronto defense?

The Nets committed 22 turnovers Monday and Toronto has the highest defensive turnover rate in the league. I expect the Raptors to continue to shut down a Nets’ offense that doesn’t have an identity without their stars.

For the record, the UNDER 218.5 (-110) is my favorite wager in the Nets-Raptors contest.
