The Brooklyn Nets (30-27) visit Madison Square Garden Wednesday to take on the New York Knicks (25-33). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nets vs. Knicks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.
The Nets finally snapped their 11-game losing skid with a 109-85 win over the Sacramento Kings Monday.
In the first action of recently-acquired G Seth Curry and C Andre Drummond, the Nets overpowered the Kings despite not having G Kyrie Irving, G Ben Simmons or F Kevin Durant.
All three will again be out for this clash of New York City rivals. The Nets are 1-9 straight up over their last 10 and 3-5-2 against the spread (ATS). They’re 22-33-2 ATS on the season.
The Knicks are slightly better ATS with a 26-32 record. Despite being favorites here, they’ve also struggled over their last seven games, posting just a 1-6 straight-up record.
Led by F Julius Randle, the Knicks will be down F RJ Barrett, their second-leading scorer.

There’s not a chance anyone would suggest betting the Knicks in this position. If there is value, it’s with the Nets at +135, but I’m not going far enough to predict the upset here.
Against the spread
“LEAN” to the NETS +4.5 (-112).
The Knicks are 10-11 ATS as home favorites.
However, Curry came right into Brooklyn and did what he does best — score efficiently. He went for 23 points on 10-for-18 shooting in 32 minutes.
Along with Drummond who had 11 points and 9 boards in 24 minutes, the Nets should be able to hang with the Knicks despite missing their three best players.
The Nets have also had a recent edge in this matchup leading to four straight wins versus the Knicks. Given New York is ranked 25th in offensive rating, I expect the Nets’ consistent scoring with Curry and Drummond to be the difference-maker.
Over/Under
BET on the UNDER 217.5 (-112).
This should be the best bet in the game. The Knicks don’t score at a high rate and are without their second-best playmaker. Also, the Knicks rank 29th in pace.
The Nets rank 11th in pace but their recent additions come from the 28th ranked Philadelphia 76ers. Curry and Drummond aren’t high-energy, transition players.
Without Barrett and with two teams that should play at a slow pace, the Under seems like the far better play. The Knicks are 27-31 O/U and the Nets are 27-29-1 O/U.
