Bronny James, the eldest son of LeBron James, has been released from the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest this week during a workout at the University of Southern California.
James, 18, was working out at the Galen Center, the practice home of the Trojans, when an emergency call was placed on Monday morning. The news of the cardiac event was released on Tuesday by a James family spokesperson.
The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, California, released a statement on Thursday stating James had been discharged and was at home resting.
Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest. He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable.
Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff and has been discharged home, where he is resting. Although his workup will be ongoing, we are hopeful for this continued progress and encouraged by his response, resilience and his family and community support.

James committed to play at USC in May over Ohio State and Oregon. He was the 19th-ranked recruit in the class of 2023 and was the last American recruit in the top 100 to sign with a school.
