The USC Trojans are one step closer to having star freshman Bronny James – the son of NBA legend LeBron James – on the floor this season.
James has been cleared to make a full return to basketball and will resume practice with USC next week with a plan to return to games soon after, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
James is not only the son of one of the greatest basketball players of all time, he’s a quality prospect on his own merit, ranking inside the top 30 in the class of 2023 at 247Sports.
His return will add to an already excellent backcourt at USC, led by No. 1 overall freshman Isaiah Collier and fifth-year senior Boogie Ellis, who are each averaging over 17 points through the team’s first seven games.
The Trojans are 5-2 on the year and are about to head to Las Vegas to take on the No. 11-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 2.

While Bronny won’t make his return in Sin City, a return eight days later when the Trojans host Long Beach State could be in the cards.
