Bronny James can change several unfortunate realities for USC basketball

Bronny James can help Isaiah Collier and Boogie Ellis create a historically impactful season at #USC on several levels.

It is notable that Bronny James stayed at home in Los Angeles to play college basketball, but at USC and not at UCLA. Why go to the non-basketball school in the City of Angels, instead of the school with 11 national championships and many more Final Fours.

Bronny didn’t go to the blue-blood program with the history, reputation and stature. He went to the program which has not been to a Final Four in a long time.

There is a part of Bronny James which clearly wanted to make history. He wanted to be part of something special.

Six years ago, Northwestern made its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. The players on the 2017 NU roster are immortal because of what they achieved. Had they gone to Kentucky or North Carolina, no one would have remembered their second-round exit (unless they were angry about it, because Kentucky and Carolina expect to make Final Fours, unlike Northwestern). By going to a program with less of a history and heritage, those players gained more recognition.

There’s a part of the Bronny James decision which conveys that same feeling: Bronny wants to help USC do new things, or things which haven’t been done in a very long time. Let’s mention a few of the droughts Bronny James could help USC end next season:
