Broncos WR DaeSean Hamilton could take a jump in Year 3

Broncos wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton could step up this season.

If Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (shoulder) isn’t able to play against the Titans on Monday, Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick will be the most likely candidates to see more action in Week 1.

Fans in Denver shouldn’t forget about DaeSean Hamilton, either. The 25-year-old receiver has had a quiet start to his career (58 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons) but Hamilton could be on the verge of a breakthrough this year.

Earlier this month, Sutton heaped praise on Hamilton.

“He’s always been a playmaker,” Sutton said on Sept. 1. “I don’t know if you remember me saying that last year, rookie year or whenever it was. When he and I got the opportunity to start, and it was just he and I, people were questioning if we were going to be able to make plays.

“People don’t know a lot about DaeSean, but the dude is a baller, a playmaker. He can run every route that you need him to run. He’ll catch the ball. He’s sure-handed and he’s a guy who can go out and make plays.”

With Jeudy and KJ Hamler joining a wide receiver room that already included a Pro Bowler in Sutton, Denver’s passing attack is loaded with potential. If Hamilton can step up and take a step forward this season, the Broncos’ wide receiver depth chart could rank among the NFL’s best.
