Broncos vs. Packers series history: 11th preseason showdown on deck

The Denver Broncos will face the Packers in their preseason home opener on Sunday, marking the 11th time these teams have met in preseason.

The Denver Broncos will face off against the Green Bay Packers at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday night.

This will be the 11th time the two teams face off in the preseason, where the Broncos have dominated with a 7-3 overall preseason record. The last preseason game between Denver and Green Bay happened in Colorado in 2017.

The Broncos and the Packers last played in the regular season in 2023, a Week 7 showdown. Then-Denver quarterback Russell Wilson went 20-of-29 for 194 yards and one touchdown. Broncos kicker Wil Lutz went a perfect four-for-four on field goals, including one from 52 yards out in a 19-17 victory. Wilson’s Green Bay counterpart Jordan Love went 21-of-31 for 180 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

The Broncos will start rookie quarterback Bo Nix on Sunday night, which head coach Sean Payton decided on before last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Denver will wear their Summit White uniforms this week at home with orange pants, the debut of the second uniform combination from the Mile High Collection, which was introduced in April.
