The NFL’s free agency negotiating window opened on Monday, allowing teams to negotiate with pending free agents.
NFL clubs are permitted to agree to terms on Monday, but no deals can officially be signed until the NFL’s new league year begins on Wednesday.
Despite the process being mostly just a formality, NFL teams will not comment on deals agreed to on Monday and Tuesday until they become official on Wednesday.
That doesn’t stop national reporters like ESPN’s Adam Schefter from reporting all the “agreements” before Wednesday, though.
We already know, for example, that the Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on multi-year contracts with guard Ben Powers, right tackle Mike McGlinchey and backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
Without officially confirming those not-yet-official signings, the Broncos found a clever way on Twitter to acknowledge the exciting additions.
