In his final 2020 NFL mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos trading for the Cleveland Browns’ 10th overall pick to select Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.
Here’s part of Easterling’s explanation for the trade:
The Broncos have a big, physical No. 1 receiver in Courtland Sutton, but he needs a running make with the speed and explosiveness to challenge opposing defenses over the top and take attention away from him. Ruggs has elite track speed, and the big-play ability to have a Tyreek Hill type of impact at the next level.
Easterling estimates that it would take two of Denver’s third-round picks (and No. 15) to move up to No. 10 to land Ruggs.
Ruggs is the first wide receiver selected in Easterling’s mock draft, ahead of Jerry Jeudy (No. 11; New York Jets), CeeDee Lamb (No. 12; Las Vegas Raiders) and Justin Jefferson (No. 13; San Francisco 49ers).
