After firing Nathaniel Hackett, the Denver Broncos will consider at least one in-house candidate to replace him.

The Broncos will interview defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero early this week, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Evero impressed as a first-year coordinator this season and he is also expected to draw interest from other teams with head coach openings.

There’s been no word yet on if interim head coach Jerry Rosburg will interview for the full-time job after the season. Rosburg has hinted that he might step away from coaching, though, and even if he does interview, he won’t be considered a top candidate.

The top candidates seem to be Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who will interview virtually this week, and ex-New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, who can interview with the team in person later this month.

Denver will begin requesting interviews with coaches under contract with other teams on Monday, and Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is expected to be on the team’s list, according to Klis.

Broncos Wire has identified 20 potential coach candidates for Denver.
