The Washington Football Team plays the Denver Broncos in Week 8 at Empower Field at Mile High.
Before the game, the Broncos will honor the legendary Peyton Manning by inducting him into the franchise’s Ring of Fame. Manning, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, led the Broncos to a win in Super Bowl 50 before he retired after the 2015 season.
Manning, who spent the first 14 seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, played his four seasons with the Broncos. He was the 2012 NFL comeback player of the year and the 2013 NFL MVP. He led the team to two Super Bowl appearances and passed for over 17,000 yards and 140 touchdowns during his time in Denver.
Manning said the following in a statement released on Denver’s official website:
I’m incredibly honored to be named to the Broncos Ring of Fame. Having been on the field when other members of the Ring of Fame have been inducted, you can tell what a special fraternity it is and how excited they are to join such a distinguished group. From Floyd Little to Karl Mecklenburg to Steve Atwater to many others, I’ve always looked up at the names around the stadium and admired the great players the Broncos have had over the years. I’ve very humbled to now join them as a Ring of Famer.
Washington’s game with the Broncos kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET.
